Ubuntu 16.10 Wallpaper Download and Installation

Ubuntu official wallpapers for 16.10 is out now.

Install Ubuntu 16.10 Wallpaper on Ubuntu 16.10

If you are running Ubuntu 16.10 beta version, the following command will get you the latest Ubuntu 16.10 wallpapers.

sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade

/usr/share/backgrounds/ directory is the Ubuntu wallpaper location, as can be seen by issuing this command:

dpkg -L ubuntu-wallpapers-yakkety

Install Ubuntu 16.10 Wallpaper on Ubuntu 16.04 and 14.04

Open up a terminal and download the ubuntu-wallpapers-yakkety deb package.

wget http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/u/ubuntu-wallpapers/ubuntu-wallpapers-yakkety_16.10.1-0ubuntu1_all.deb

Then install it with dpkg.

sudo dpkg -i ubuntu-wallpapers-yakkety*.deb

Download all wallpapers of Ubuntu from 4.10 to 16.10

Download all Ubuntu wallpapers with the following command:

wget http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/u/ubuntu-wallpapers/ubuntu-wallpapers_16.10.1.orig.tar.gz

Extract it

tar xvf ubuntu-wallpapers_16.10.1.orig.tar.gz
